Celebrate the arrival of spring at the Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum’s Wildflower Appreciation Family Day on Saturday, May 3rd from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.

Texas Bluebonnets

In honor of Temple’s official designation as the Wildflower Capital of Texas, families will enjoy a variety of free wildflower-themed activities. Young visitors will get the chance to make a fun headpiece, build their own flower pot and paint their favorite wildflower. A hunt for wildflower pictures throughout the garden will earn explorers a special prize.

This family day event will take place outside the museum at the garden gazebo, located next to the Santa Fe depot. While outside, kids will also have the chance to ride the museum’s barrel train.

The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosts a free Family Day event on the first Saturday of each month. Attendance at the event is free. Regular admission charges apply to view the rest of the museum. The museum is located in the Santa Fe Depot at 315 West Avenue B in downtown Temple. The museum is open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
