Exhibits Overview

Located on the second floor of the Temple Santa Fe Depot, the museum’s exhibit space displays a broad spectrum of objects and displays relating to the city of Temple and Railroad history. From the Temple Gallery to the Communications Room, the Temporary Gallery to the Rolling Stock, the Railroad & Heritage Museum has something for everyone in the family.

 

General Exhibits

Explore the museum’s permanent exhibits and discover the interconnected history of the Santa Fe Railroad and the city of Temple.  Learn about Temple’s Fred Harvey House and the history of the Santa Fe Hospital.

Wander through the main gallery to view railroad equipment up close and observe a working telegraph in the Communications Room.

 

 

Temporary Exhibits

In our temporary exhibit gallery you will find a steady rotation of exhibits focusing on both local and national history utilizing hidden treasures from our collection.

 

 

Rolling Stock

The Museum’s rolling stock collection is exhibited outdoors on the south side of the Santa Fe Depot. Here you will find both steam and diesel locomotives along with passenger and freight cars.
