“Beat the Heat” at the July Family Day
Who says you can’t have fun when it’s hot outside? Cool off this Saturday, July 5th at the Beat the Heat Free Family Day at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. Help us celebrate UV Safety Month with tips on how to be safe from the sun’s rays and be smart during these hot summer months.
“We hope everybody can come out to the museum with their children this Saturday to have some free family fun,” said Museum Director, Stephanie Long. “We want to encourage families to adopt good habits during the summer, such as limiting their time in the sun and also stressing the importance of wearing sunscreen.”
The museum will host activities to help keep the entire family cool, while having fun. Activities include an indoor balloon volleyball game, summer themed crafts and a lemonade stand! Barrel train rides will also be offered, dependent on weather.
The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosts a free Family Day event on the first Saturday of each month. Admission to the event is free. Regular admission charges apply to view the rest of the museum.
The museum is located in the Santa Fe Depot at 315 West Avenue B in downtown Temple. The museum is open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
